Hi All...interesting that in the repository for Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy the 
libmotif3 and libmotif-dev are vers 2.2.3....these work very well with 
Xastir 1.9.3 ...the latest from the CVS
will keep this in mind when and if Ubuntu openMotif libs are upgraded 
and show problems
