No problem.  You don't have text-to-speech.  Big deal.

That's an ownership/group/permissions problem kind of thing for the
serial port.  There are multiple ways around it.  The INSTALL and
README.Getting-Started files both discuss it.  Look for "uucp" and
"4755".

That last line is to be done from the Xastir menus, not from the
command-line:  Map -> Configure -> INDEX: Reindex ALL Maps
