Absolutely not, and as I have a degree in Computer Science it would
make me a bit of a communist (and idiot) to think or say otherwise.

What I do have a problem with is their actively preventing free use of
a (rather expensive) piece of hardware that I ostensibly own.  If the
xastir developers want to port it and give it away it should be their
prerogative, and Apple shouldn't stand in the way of them porting it
or me using it. That does not appear to be Apple's stance at this
juncture.
