[Xastir] Help needed for shared libraries...

*I have just install xastir-1.9.3, everything seem to compile just fine, 
but when I tried to start xastir &, it stops, saying this:

Error while loading shared libraries: libgdal.so.1: cannot open shared 
object file: no such file or directory...

Can anyone give me some advice on what I am missing here...
