[Xastir] Transmit Shapefile ?

FWIW:  I assisted Bob this last fall at the Seattle Marathon, and
the scheme described above worked VERY well (which was great 'cuz
Bob pretty much set it all up and I just had to show up and
operate!).

I also ran two copies of Xastir, one zoomed out to the "whole route"
level, one that I panned/zoomed as necessary to see details.  We had
great comments from the net operators as to how well the APRS system
worked.  We had another monitor up by them so they could see what I
was doing.  They referred to it fairly often.  I created a script
that brought up the two copies of Xastir and the IM program that we
using between two stations.  That way one command could reconstruct
the setup if any issues occurred with power, OS, etc.

Also worked well.  Of course we had to coordinate these so both our
screens looked the same.  It would have been nicer to send the info
across to the other station the way that APRS+SA can do.
