The discussion has been long and to say the least, very confusing. Any
chance we can get someone to walk us through a set of instructions of
how to actually see maps working with this new configuration.

For example;
1) Go to ftp://ftp2.census.gov/geo/tiger/TIGER2008 download the states
you would like.. i.e. Missouri
2) Unzip and rename the following files;
         tl_2008_27053_arealm to arealm rename to arealm
	tl_2008_27053_areawater rename to areawater
	tl_2008_27053_cousub rename to cousub
	tl_2008_27053_cousub00 rename to cousub00
	tl_2008_27053_edges rename to edges
	tl_2008_27053_tabblock rename tabblock
3) Copy this Perl script to ....
4) Use vi to edit....

etc., etc.

I'm sure some of you were able to follow the entire thread(s) about
"New capability: 2008 Tiger Shapefile street maps" but I got lost
about the 15th RE: in the subject line.

I know everyones mileage will vary and that everyone has different
needs with Xastir but a simple step by step here would go a long way.
One thing I'm really lost about is the .dbfawk files, I don't seem to
have any, where do I get them, where do they go when I have them, is
this something I just make or do I have to download them or should
they have been in the maps download????

Thanks guys for all you've done, I'm really looking forward to using
the new Tiger maps.
