I know that remserial doesn't compile under FreeBSD, a system that has more
in common with OS X than Linux does. But socat works fine on BSD and probably
works fine on OS X. I use it to share the TNC on my SheevaPlug running Ubuntu
with Xastir on the BSD machine.
http://www.bogodyn.org/blog/
has a few more details, and I managed to simplify it considerably since that
first posting.
Also, you can look into "ldsped" to run on your linux machine if it's an x86
machine --- right now ldsped is only available in binary form as a beta release.
With it you can share your Linux machine's TNC across a network just like
AGWPE.

In some cultures what I do would be considered normal.
