[Xastir] Problems with warnings

I am a new user of Xastir and Ubuntu 9.04. It worked right out the package installer. I found it difficult to open the tarballs. I believe 9.04 offers, xast 1.9.4 and I have been impressed with all the features not offered with other APRS programs. kd5mkv steve
