I should have said how to run it.  Create the script then set it's
permissions:

     chmod 755 UIView2XastirLog.pl


Run it against an input file and tell it where to put the output:

     ./UIView2XastirLog.pl  <input_file.log  >output_file.log


That log file of yours was fun to watch as Xastir loaded it.  Like
an etch-a-sketch gone wild!
