[Xastir] Xastir2.0 v.s. OpenGTS.Org?

The big difference is that with xastir v2 the SQL support is an
optional module (as I understand, anyway).  With openGTS it seems to
be a hard minimum requirement, and that sets the bar fairly high.

I have no doubt that openGTS performs its tasks quite well, but xastir
is designed for APRS.  I suspect there would be a lot of under the
hood work to make openGTS do APRS, even if the two
applications/protocols look superficially the same.

Even so, another APRS client would be a welcome addition, and looking
at a new tracking protocol may give some inspiration for APRS
improvements.

(and yeah, i know java and javascript aren't the same, but neither are
impressive performers.  at least javascript isn't as bad as flash.)
