For what it's worth, on a couple of my systems I now have this
script:

I did "chmod 755 configure.suse" to make it executable and run it in
place of "./configure" on my OpenSuSE systems so I don't have to
remember the specifics of the extra flag each time.  I do a LOT of
compiling from scratch.  Sometimes 20 or more times in one night.

I don't know how the rest of the developers feel about adding
distribution-specific scripts like this to CVS, but they could make
things easier for the users.  We could perhaps drop them into
another directory so they're out of the way.

Thoughts?
