... but you can run a basically stripped xastir, no maps, etc., even
on a headless machine.  Not much CPU time is involved.  Share its data
with the server port to other systems.

I'm running xastir (with maps) on an 800MHz/512Mb RAM/compact flash
"disk" system and it's surprisingly snappy.
