[Xastir] 1.9.8 & 1.9.9

Its all working now. Thank you all for the suggestions. 

The laptop in question was a HP mini. At the time I could only find a remix 
version of ubuntu 9. I found a remix version of 10.for the laptop and installed 
it yesterday. Then I used Peter's script and I'm up and running. 


Now I just need to setup some maps and I'm done.

did you follow the install how to for ubuntu 9.04/9.10 ? 

what exactly are the errors? to say that it fails without providing what
happened makes is rather hard to pin point where to identify the issue!
