[Xastir] DSL Soundmodem

I have the Kenwood TM-V71A as well, and this took some thinking. The radio keys on serial RTS, but only when it's in EchoLink mode. To put the radio into EchoLink mode, hold down PF2 while turning on the radio. In the menu, set DATBND (517) to B, DATSPD(518) to 1200 (for APRS)

I recommend a few other things. Use the M(emory)C(ontrol)P(rogram) to increase the PR1 output level all the way. Also, turn the squelch off entirely - let the PC hear static.

Hope this helps, and you're welcome to email me with further specifics/questions. I too am using my TM-V71 - it's awesome to be running APRs while ragchewing!
