[Xastir] Dell Xserver crash when starting CVS HEAD.

It's certainly possible that the Xastir fix to work around the X11
bug doesn't work against _all_ X11 servers exhibiting the bug.

Most likely one would need to apply patches to the X11 server to get
Xastir working on those systems.  Much more of a hassle.
