[Xastir] Hurricane plots

 I manually downloaded the GIS data from Alex but I would like to automate
this if it has not been done already.  Before I go off and try my very
amateur hand at scripting this I want to make sure I am not reinventing a
wheel here.

Basically all I have to do is download the GIS data, unzip it to the maps
directory and bingo.

Has this been done?  I did not find anything in the archives but I think I
have seen it there.
