I run javAPRSSrvr on a SheevaPlug, which is an ARM processor, not an x86.
It is a very underpowered machine, and runs javAPRSSrvr Just Fine.
The closed-source nature of it doesn't bother me. It's free, its author
doesn't ask you to "beg" for it, just ask. If you don't want that, fine, but
it is the software that is best-supported for the task. Xastir's igate
is OK, but frankly not fully implemented. Enough for most users, but there
are some holes (for example, it won't beacon a posit to go with gated messages).
APRSD is broken in many ways, and while open-sourced, is mostly abandoned.
