[Xastir] Fwd: xastir_udp_client question

I have been looking into using xastir_udp_client to sent out the
locations of some local repeaters etc.... from a script. For
some reason that I do not understand I seem to get a "}"
character inserted before my "APRS PKT" string. Am I doing something
wrong? Is there an explanation for why this is happening?

For example if I use the command below:
xastir_udp_client localhost 2023 K1KWP 9999 -to_rf 'test test test'
the packet that is logged via XASTIR logging function (and via the AX25
listen) is:
K1KWP>APX199,KB1JQO*:}test test test

By the way, I purposely mangled my passcode in this email and I am using
fedora 12. Also from playing around in xastir_udp_client and enabling
one of the debuging printfs the string in buffer that is being sent to
the server looks correct (ie. no extra "}" character. So, it
seems that this is actually happening inside xastir itself.

73,

Kevin (K1KWP)
