Interesting observation. I have Mint 7 and Ubuntu 9.10 here, simply
needing about 5 hours each to d/l the latest of either for updating
(baby ADSL).
My understanding is that Mint is Ubuntu, with various codecs plus the
multimedia repositories being included. More or less what one gets by
adding MediUbuntu to Ubuntu. They also seem to run a few more checks of
the Ubuntu updates before releasing same a bit later.
Yes, Mint seems very stable. My only problem is likely an Nvidia video
card issue which is likely what freezes X overly frequently.
Ah, just installed 'hardinfo', now I can see what I've got!
