Why would I need to plug it into a different port?  That isn't a functional
requirement on my part.  And if it isn't anyone else's, I fail to see the
problem.  I didn't notice any difficulty plugging it into any port of my
computer and using it, fwiw.
The FTDI is hands down the best device.  The serial number is part of

For you, great!  I really like the Keyspan and it's absolute ease of use.  I
think I will call the Keyspan the best device because I value ease of use
and not some mystery plugging in all the ports non-issue.
