Hi, I don't know if I entered a root password when I loaded Fedora. I attempt to use terminal and yum command and see langpacks, presto,refresh-packagekit Adding en US to language list - that's where it quits.

Xastir is included in the Fedora repositories. In fact, there's quite a
bit of ham stuff in Fedora now.

Though not always the latest available version - it's easy to install
Xastir and all it's dependencies with a simple (as root):

yum install xastir

If you want the latest development version - see the "Installation
Notes" on the Xastir Wiki for Fedora and setup the CVS version of
Xastir. Once done, it's easy to keep current. There's even a script you
can add to your cron system to automate updates via CVS.
