We have a tnc-startup.d700 file in xastir/config/ (Xastir sources) or /usr/local/share/xastir/config/ (installed location).
We don't have any D710-specific files in Xastir sources.
I don't have any Kenwood APRS radios so probably can't help you too much more directly.
I looked up the original thread to see if a D710-specific script to the mailing list. Looks like there were several postings to that thread, 11/28/2010 and 11/29/2010, so you might want to read them all.
