Fyi, I added an AX.25 startup script example to the HowTo above for
Debian/Ubuntu. I'm currently using aprx as an IGate, which autostarts
on boot. The startup script for the AX.25 port runs before the aprx
daemon starts.
A working AX.25 interface opens up plenty of possibilities. I now
have ldsped installed which provides an AGWPE interface to the AX25
port. So now Xastir can run on a separate (faster) computer and
connect to the headless Acer nettop and share the TNC with the local
aprx IGate. In fact, I can run either Xastir or aprsis32 from
different computers on the home network and share the TNC with the
aprx igate.
If there is any interest in a HowTo for the wiki on using Xastir with
ldsped, I might try to add something, but I'm not making any promises.
