[Xastir] Xastir Maps

Anyone able to get Xastir to display maps?, I got it working with the radio displaying stations, but just the blank background world map, I tried the online map now program just freezes with the spinning circle, how can I fix this? I am no Linux expert, so please terms that a casual user can understand, hi hi.. I am learning though...
