No, it's not too late.  I think the change is a good idea, but it
doesn't have to be immediate.  I have my local files modified with
Alan's patches, but haven't committed them to CVS yet.  I wasn't
going to do so until we had a way to recover for the people
affected.

Define "not stable enough at the moment".  Having some problems?

We have one outstanding issue with snapshots that one user is
having, and another user is having problems with messaging.  I
haven't seen large quantities of problems from any segment of the
userbase recently.  We're working the issues listed and will get
them solved.
