[Xastir] SHapefile question

Get the following messages on shapefil when compiling.


checking shapefil.h usability... yes
checking shapefil.h presence... yes
checking for shapefil.h... yes
checking for DBFOpen in -lshp... no
checking libshp/shapefil.h usability... no
checking libshp/shapefil.h presence... no
checking for libshp/shapefil.h... no

Am I supposed to have something in the libshp directory somewhere?
Also this is what shows up at the end:

Have shapelib-1.2.10 installed.
