I've commented on this last one before.  make lib and make lib_install didn't work on Solaris because the
ShapeLib makefile has hardcoded paths.  I did write the ShapeLib author and tell him this, but his responce was
the the libtool stuff was added by another author.

I don't completly understand the problems here.  I recently had to go over to another ham's house and help him
install the shapelibraries because he was having a problem, as well.
