On the 25 pin adapter, pin 2 is -9 and pin 4 (CTS I think) is +9 
compared to 7, which I think is ground. Pin 9, which I believe is DTR is 
always zero. I started up xastir to look at the voltages, I'm not sure 
how to get Minicom to raise and lower the signals.

I got the Kantronics cable because the schematic was recommended to me 
previously on this list as a good one to build, so since nothing I built 
worked correctly, I thought I would just buy one.
