It could also be some pointer that is messed up, like perhaps the
HEAD list pointer after expires start?

There's yet another tweak that was done to prevent GUI lockups,
which was limiting the Station Info display so that it only displays
the last 100 (set by MAX_TRACK_LIST).  When in GPS TrackMe mode, I
ended up with thousands of points, and bringing up that dialog froze
the system.  Just so you're aware of the fix and don't confuse that
with tracklog point expiration.  The points are still in the
database unless expired, and saving the track/creating a shapefile
map out of it will snag all points.
