I haven't done it yet, but I plan on using "auplay.exe" and NAS
compiled for Cygwin.  It worked for playing sounds from another
computer so it should work in playing sounds on this one.

Interesting.  There's a yes/no section of the configure output that
looks like this:

Building with ShapeLib...... : yes
Building with ImageMagick... : yes
Building with Festival...... : yes
Building with GPSMan........ : no

What does yours look like?
