[Xastir] Xastir forgetting DNS???

It takes Xastir a while to figure out that a socket is dead.  That's
basically where I was headed by having him telnet.  What you suggest
needs to be tried, to tell for sure whether it is a half-dead socket
connection problem or a network problem end-to-end.
