[Xastir] aprsd unclear

No...  aprsd listens for formatted APRS packets on UDP1315.  Based on
the option at the front of the packet if will either gate it to RF,
Inet, or both.

Its doesn't poll aprsd for data.  As the aprsd process receives data
from external sources it spools it out to the connected clients..
