[Xastir] New Server Port

I've been playing with the server port and had a few thoughts/ideas.
Not sure if I'm just misunderstaning how the port is ment to be used or
not but.....
One thing I'd like to do is share my TNC with more than just Xastir,
specifically I'd like to be able to run UI-View on one of my systems
just so I can compare them two with the same data feed. (That and my
local Elmer is a UI junkie so somtimes following his ideas requires
playing with UI ;) )
Is the output on the server port from Xastir supposed to be able to be
used like any other APRS-IS server? Because I don't seem to be getting
that from mine - just raw data from the TNC which is running in KISS
mode so UI-View won't handle it.
Is there any interest in making the server port able to emulate
something like AGWPE or a standard APRS-IS server to make this
possible....or am I just misconfiguring things is why it's not working?
I can telnet to the port and see the packets - but they're just raw KISS
packets....maybe I should be asking the UI-View users if there's any
interest in developing a plug-in that will read this port instead?
