Did any errors occur?  Check your "make.log" file to see.  It sounds
like your executable is still old.  Check the timestamp on
/usr/local/bin/xastir:

    ls -l /usr/local/bin/xastir

With the old code, any packet that was an ack or a message from you
would make the windows pop up.  You NEED the new code.

With the new code, only the first copy of an ACK or the first copy
of a new message for you should cause the windows to pop up.
