I'm interested in a no-cables solution for the woods, for
hunting/hiking and SAR work.  Cables always get yanked by brush (can
you see I don't always stick to trails much?).

Power consumption and cost would be the main things.  Perhaps
Bluetooth or Zigbee solutions, but I can't buy a GPS with Zigbee.
