Definitely good changes to make.  At this point I'd say that if you
can run Motif or OpenMotif on your system, do so instead of Lesstif.
Some people don't have that option though.

Motif is a commercial product which is well-established and runs
quite well.  OpenMotif is a single-user license for Motif which
allows you to run it on an open-source operating system as I recall.

Lesstif is an open-source clone of Motif.  It has always had less
functionality and more bugs.  Over time this may get corrected, but
I'm not sure weather that ship has sailed.  With OpenMotif being
available for many users this may have slowed down work on Lesstif.
Don't really know though.
