Yea, LANG=C.  Good.

I really wish that printf/sprintf/fprintf/scanf/fscanf/scanf didn't
change their operation based on that variable and others.  The real
fix for Xastir would be to stop using those functions, but that's a
lot of work.

When we do our next go-around we'll have to fix this problem as
well.  It used to be mostly a non-US problem, but due to UTF
proliferation it's hit us now as well.  Default on most Linux
installations is now UTF-something.  Mine is "en_US.UTF-8" on
OpenSuSE-10.3.
