I seem to remember some discussion about similar problems within the
last year or so.  Searching through the list might yield a
reasonable solution.  I don't recall seeing that problem myself, so
all I can think of is installing more fonts.  It's possible you
don't have a good selection in there and it's picking something
goofy from what's available.
