Hello,

Fyi, I have a start on installation notes for using Xastir in
VirtualBox for Windows users. The direct link is
http://www.xastir.org/wiki/index.php/HowTo:VirtualBox.

The Wiki has a link to a location where a pre-built Xubuntu 9.04
virtual machine can be downloaded that will run in VirtualBox. The
new VM is based on the one that was originally shared by KC0TFB, Peter
Gamache. It has been modified extensively including cloning the
original partitions to a larger virtual hard drive and enlarging them
as well as deleting the original binary Xastir installation and
replacing it with a current CVS version. The text editors Nano and
mousepad were also reinstalled. The idea was to provide a VM with
more space for maps and a newer version of Xastir that is easy to
continue to update.

Although the VM has been modified in order to be provided for
general-purpose use, the scripts and Minnesota maps that were provided
in the original VM are still available via the home directory in case
anyone finds them useful.
