Do you mean:

      MacOSX -> Unix
     Solaris -> Unix
       HP/UX -> Unix
       Linux -> Unix-like (very)
     Windows -> Not Unix

You could also tweak the file in-place with GM or IM. Your script
would have to keep track of that else it might repeatedly timestamp
the file. That's mainly why I suggested moving it to a new
directory: It's just easier for a script to keep track if it just
has to process any file that appears with the proper name.

Yes. Available time for working on the code is a big issue for some
of us though (me in particular). We get things done when we see the
urgency/necessity of doing so. When we don't, the best way to get
changes implemented is to send us the changes. In this case the
changes would require more toggles in the GUI to be able to disable
the feature for those that don't want it. We'd be happy to point
you to places in the code that would need to be changed, but
probably not willing to make the changes and test them for you.

So... We're open to changes, just not freely available to make all
of them. I hope that makes sense.

Don't worry too much about pissing us off. It takes a LOT more than
what's been discussed so far. This is all healthy discussion!

Also: One needs to be persistent to get changes implemented.
You're doing well there. The pest stage starts happening when you
get a definite "no" yet keep asking after that. hi hi. No worries
so far.
