[Xastir] Maps from picture files (ie JPG, etc)

That explains it.  GM on Ubuntu 9.10 is built with QuantumDepth=8, and Xastir
1.9.6 has the bug that renders images all black with that GM configuration.

1.9.8 or CVS built from source should fix it.
