[Xastir] soundmodem stops decoding

This doesn't help you a lot, but I found that I had a lot better luck with soundmodem when running it under the Linux AX.25 subsystem rather than in KISS mode. It's been long enough ago that I don't remember the exact issues. Admittedly, this wasn't with Xastir driving it (it runs the CRVLS digipeater/iGate on javAPRSSrvr).
