[Xastir] {Dangerous Content?} Intel 82801H soundmodem

I'm posting to this list in the hopes that I can help someone else with soundmodem and Ubuntu 9.10

I have found that the Intel 82801H chip does not work with soundmodem and xastir.
Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) HD Audio Controller (rev 02)

If anyone else has found otherwise I'd be happy to know about it.
