[Xastir] Weather station type

Hi, Dean -

Well, yeah, I was someplace sort of fun yesterday; at OSCON in Portland.
Lots of "interesting" stuff there, not much of which I (unfortunately)
have time for right now. Work keeps interfereing with hobbies.

So - the bottom line is that what Xastir does with each weather station
type is (right now) dependent on the specific code for that type; and,
each station type is coded completely independently of any other station
type. I took a look at this a few months ago, and couldn't really figure
out an "elegant" (or at least non-kludge) way to fix that, either
specifically for the Davis or generically.

This is definitely on the list of things I want to change; once I get some
time to get back into the code. That may actually happen sooner rather
than later now, since I have some additional incentive - I just turned up
a "remote" (180 miles away from my current QTH) station (N7QNM-10) that
I'd like to capture (and record in database).

I'll definitely post progress (or even lack thereof) to the list.

Curt - at OSCON, I had a long (for that venue - 20 minute) chat with the
developers of Maria (the original MySQL guys that started broke away when
SUN was acquired by Oracle. In the next release, due out "sometime this
year"; they're going to have FULL OpenGIS support NATIVE within Maria.
They've actually hired a guy to focus on just this (they had one guy who
left, and they just replaced him).

More later....

Clay
