Hm.. well, I've been running these files since the beginning of August,
and was seeing weather alerts and such before, but these errors (tons of
them, but all those two files) were new. I also occasionally see "Error
in computing fill/hole ring" but that's usually one line every so often,
this series tends to delay startup considerably.

Quite possible, see below.

>stupidsmack< Yeah, that would have been good to include. I'm running
2.0.0. Strangely, I compiled it on August 2nd, but the Help->About says
October 25th; looks like compiledate.c didn't get updated when I build it.

This is definitely the case, though as you say the error doesn't match.
When I ran the script, I did have to edit it to have it grab the
correct files as many were changed and some that were requested no
longer existed. I was unaware that the specific files have ties to
something internal to the program though.

Looking back through my history, I did edit the get-NWSdata script to
get the latest files available, and I deleted some ancient stuff I had
laying around; but again, these all worked until this morning. And I
hate this kind of issue.. especially since people who usually tell me "I
didn't change anything" come back two days later with what they changed,
so I hate being the one to say I didn't change anything :>
