[Xastir] OSM maps not loading Ubuntu 14.04

David,

Did you keep your maps directory from the previous install?  If so then you may still have a lot of discontinued online files in them.  The CVS was updated to not create them on new installations but it didn't have any logic to remove the files if they already existed.
