Hello Mike,

Ok.. that will work though Jessie is the newest version.

That is the exact same fully-loaded list that I have here from my
"compiled from sources" install. You're good to go there.

Hmmm.. that's bad. To double check, try:
$ whereis xastir
xastir: /usr/bin/xastir /usr/share/xastir /usr/share/man/man1/xastir.1.gz
$ strings /usr/bin/xastir | grep "xastir 2."
xastir 2.0.7
This is what I see from the CVS version

This is from Bernard's Rpi image that I've been helping him build over
the years. It's primarily intended for the FBB and FPAC packet BBS/Node
system but he's added in some goodies too. He has a nice document about
it here:
http://f6bvp.org/AX25_BBS_Node_RaspBerry_Pi_install.html
I know for a fact he's working on a refreshed version running Jessie on
the Rpi2 but I don't think he's released it yet. He also has a script
on the Rpi image to rebuilt the VE7FET version of the AX.25
libraries/Apps, FBB, and Fpac, but it doesn't seem to cover Xastir. I'll
mentioned this email to him and see if he can add an Xastir update script.

With Xastir.. you "enable" or "disable" maps via the GUI.
1. Assuming you have a LIVE, working Internet connection, start Xastir
2. File --> Configure --> Station
3. Put in your callsign and a good GPS location
a. To start out, use Google Maps to find your location - Here's
mine but that 37 20.61 -121 59.99 isNOT in "gps" coordinate form
b. Copy in those coordinates and paste them into
http://boulter.com/gps/?c=
c. Look down under the "GPS" coodinates and THAT's what you want
to put into Xastir
https://www.google.com/maps?q=37+20.61+-121+59.99&hl=en&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=49.844639,78.310547&t=m&z=16
d. Choose your desired symbol, power, antenna, and short comment,
and I personally recommend "compressed posits" in the upper right corner
2. Goto Map --> Map Chooser --> Online/OSM_tiled_mapnik.geo (pick
only one at a time)
These also work for me:
OSM_tiled_tiled_cycle.geo
OSM_tiled_tiled_form.geo
OSM_tiled_mapquest-aerial.geo
OSM_tiled_mapquest.geo
3. Click apply
You should see the the map come right up. If it doesn't, see what kind
of errors is coming up in the terminal window where you started Xastir.
