[Xastir] What happened?

Several possibilities come to mind:

1) You haven't checked the box for "Expand Dirs" in the Map Chooser
2) The script actually didn't work to install needed libraries since they
don't exist under the same names in Stretch
3) The script installed old versions that are causing all the other issues
4) The missing / old libraries didn't result in the right options being
compiled into Xastir

What libraries are listed when you go to Help / About?  Or when you run
./configure

If the correct libraries are located during the configure then you should
have couple more entries listed under ONLINE once you check the "Expand
Dirs" box..but you are correct that the number of sources has decreased,
mainly because the sources of those maps have changed their licenses or
access methods.

The auto-build git script from 175moonlight.com (for Wheezy and Jessie)
builds fine

then I get to choosing maps - WHAT?? only 2 entries for 'online', a .gov
US-centric one and a .ca Canadian.

And a major fail: closing Xastir down leaves the desktop with no Panel!
